NOVOS CEO Chris Mirabile claims to have a biological age of 23 despite being 39 years old. To share his tips with the world, Mirabile has been discussing his secrets on various platforms. Biological age tests are controversial, but experts say they are a good indicator of how much damage your body has sustained.
After overcoming a brain tumour in his youth, Mirabile now shares some easy and budget-friendly tips to slow down the ageing process. One of his top recommendations, conveyed during a podcast, is to engage in moderate physical activity for 150 minutes per week. By doing so, you can extend your health span and lifespan significantly. For instance, if you take a brisk walk for 20 minutes each day of the week, you’ll almost reach that goal. Additionally, Mirabile advises incorporating bodyweight exercises into your routine twice weekly – with an emphasis on leg workouts specifically.
Exercising regularly can support brain health, strengthen your muscles and bones, and even help reduce your risk for disease, according to The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Mirabile used doing squats as a good example of bodyweight exercises, suggesting you build up your endurance starting from 20 reps. Using this method, you can even exercise while watching television. Mirabile works out six times a week, split into cardio and weightlifting sessions.
Mirabile shared another valuable tip about intermittent fasting, emphasizing the significance of maintaining a restricted eating window of at least 12 hours. During a podcast interview, he stressed that the timing of our meals is crucial and referred to Dr. Satchidananda Panda’s research at the Salk Institute in California. Mirabile asserted that shortening our eating window can have significant benefits for our overall health and well-being.
In an interview with The Daily Mail, Mirabile said he eats healthy 90% of the time, especially during the workday. His diet’s typical foods include broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and berries. The outlet reported that he eats two “cheat meals” about once a week, as a treat every now and then. On a Friday night, I might have pizza and then a dessert on a Saturday, but I don’t have pizza and dessert at the same time because that’s a lot,” he told DailyMail.com.
Mirabile also emphasized the importance of getting a good night’s sleep, recommending that you rest for eight hours each night, according to The Daily Mail. It is essential for anyone’s physical and emotional well-being to get good sleep, and The Cleveland Clinic recommends adults get seven to eight hours of sleep per night.
